Internship photo essay
For the first three weeks of my internship, I would go to Starbucks in the mornings for an hour because I had to drop my brother off at school at 8:30, and my shift started at 10:00. Every day I would order a grande cafe latte. I actually went there enough, that I racked up enough points to get to gold status on the Starbucks app!

This is the exam table that Dr.B uses for neuters and minor surgeries. I have seen 4 neuters on this table and prepped at least 20 dogs for IV catheters here. The vet techs also prefer to use this table for dental cleanings. At first, it was hard to watch the techs draw blood because I thought it was hurting the animals, but I soon realized that if done right, it would be virtually painless, and the results from drawing blood could save their life.

These are the rescue puppies that came in the first week I was interning here. They were found at the side of the road in Tijuana, and were brought to us by one of the rescues that the clinic partners with. It was really sad to see them go to foster homes because we all loved them so much at the clinic, but I knew that they would be given a wonderful and happy new life.

On the last day of internships, I hand wrote all of my coworkers thank you notes because I really appreciated all of the knowledge they shared with me throughout my internship. I was really sad to leave my internship because it was such a short experience and I loved learning everything about the veterinary field.
